About the Artist

Deb Peters developed a love of drawing and painting at an early age. She was fortunate to be part of an artistic environment at home and with her community in the Fraser Valley.
During the 1980’s, Deb expressed her creative side by becoming a working potter, developing dishware and sculptures. The pottery was designed in a Japanese style, with dish sets in bamboo and orchid paintings. Her works were sold in Western Canada, the Yukon and Japan.
She then moved into education, teaching art, music and writing. Deb’s love of creative works and nature was the catalyst for her moving to Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island in 2014.
She continues to be inspired by the natural surroundings, other artists, travel, poetry and music. She can now be found in her studio using acrylics, oils and watercolours to illustrate the beauty that is abundant around Vancouver Island.
Deb continues to be influenced by numerous art teachers, other artists. She continues to actively search out master artists throughout western Canada to study with. She is a member of the Canadian Federation of Artists/Active Member, deCosmos Fine Arts and participates in Art shows and in galleries.
